Online Blackjack:

How to Play Blackjack Online?

Every casino game is unique and exciting, but blackjack offers more than a thrilling experience. Unlike other games, this one has a house edge of around 1%. In other words, blackjack offers the best winning odds and, as a result, may be the most profitable casino game there is. It’s even possible to earn a living by playing real-money blackjack professionally.

However, blackjack online is different than a game you’ll play at a brick-and-mortar casino. It comes in many shapes and forms. You can enjoy various video blackjack versions or play it in a live casino mode. And considering you don’t even need to leave your home to play it for real money, online blackjack ensures a more comfortable and convenient experience.

Blackjack is a simple card game that originates from France. It was first known by the name Vent-et-ent, meaning 21. However, it later got the name Blackjack based on a specific bet casinos used to offer in those days. Namely, the combination of an Ace and a Black Jack used to pay out 10:1. Even though you won’t find the casino that offers this betting possibility today, the game kept the name Blackjack.

As you can imagine, it’s one of the most in-demand casino games worldwide. You can find blackjack at any brick-and-mortar gambling venue and on every corner of the internet. Since the blackjack rules are simple, anyone can understand how to play it. But, that doesn’t mean that everyone can easily win the game. Getting there takes time and practice.

Online Blackjack Rules

To understand the blackjack rules, you need to learn the primary goal of the game. Every player’s main objective is to beat the dealer or if you like it more that way, the house. What other casino goers around you do doesn’t affect you in any way. The only cards you should pay attention to are those you and the dealer got.

At the beginning of a round, every player gets two cards turned face-up. On the other hand, the dealer receives one card that’s turned face-up and the second one that’s hidden. The goal is to get a total of 21 or as closest as possible to that number. To beat the casino, you should score higher than the dealer. However, if you exceed 21, you lose

After you place a bet and get the two cards, the game starts. When your turn comes, you can either hit (ask for a card), stand (refuse a card), split (if you got a pair of cards), double down (double your bet), and surrender (give up and keep half of your bet). Cards with numbers are worth their rank, face cards value ten, and an Ace can either bring your one or 11 points. It’s crucial to make your decision based on your and the dealer’s cards. The basic strategy chart can help you understand what move is the wisest to make in a particular situation.

Blackjack Winning Tips

The crucial thing to keep in mind is that the element of luck is still strong in Blackjack. For that reason, nothing guarantees you success. However, some tricks can help you boost your experience and increase your odds of winning simultaneously.

When to Hit and Stand?

In some cases, the only logical move is to hit and get one more card. For example, if the total of your cards is 12 or less, you should feel free to hit. Nonetheless, things turn difficult when your card score is between 13 and 17. In this case, you should make a decision based on the dealer’s upper card.

So, if the dealer’s card is between two and six, and you have 13, 14, 15, or 16, it’s wise to stand. However, if it’s not, you can hit. Simultaneously, standing is the only reasonable choice when you have a card score of 17, 18, 19, or 20.

When to Double Down?

Doubling down means raising your bet and asking for one more card. You can’t receive any more cards afterward. Obviously, you double down only when you’re almost certain the outcome will be in your favor. As you can imagine, you should always be careful when making this move.

Generally, it’s never wise to double down when the dealer has an Ace. Nevertheless, there are some situations when you should make this a bit of a risky move. For example, you may consider doubling down when you have soft 16, 17, or 18. The soft hand contains an Ace, which can be worth either 11 or 1.

Furthermore, when you have a total card score of 11, you have a higher chance of hitting 21. So, in this particular case, doubling down is a pretty good idea. Lastly, if you have a hard hand that scores 8 or 9, and the dealer’s up-card is low, you can make this move and try out your luck. In the case you receive a high card, you’ll get quite close to 21.

When to Split?

Players are allowed to split whenever they get a pair of cards of the same value. By splitting, you get the chance to play two independent hands simultaneously. And even though splitting cards increases your chances of winning, you should not always go for it. For instance, experts advise against splitting pairs of 2s, 4s, and 5s.

Moreover, if you receive a pair of 10s or face cards, you may decide to avoid splitting. In this situation, you’ll have a total card score of 20, which is the closest to 21 you can get. So, it may be best to stand at this point. However, splitting the pair of Aces and 8s is always a good idea.

When to Surrender?

Surrendering is the move to make when you have a slight chance of winning. There are two types of surrender – early and late. Considering that you won’t find the casino that allows early surrender, we’ll focus on the other type. Late surrender is allowed only after the dealer checks the hole card. If you think you have a low chance of winning, you can give up half of your bet and finish at that point.

Players generally don’t like the idea of giving up. However, when the dealer has an Ace, and you have 14, 15, or 16, you may consider making this move. In addition, you may surrender against the dealer’s 10 when you have 15 or 14.

How to Play Live Blackjack?

Live blackjack provides more of a realistic and authentic experience. It’s played in the same way as the video blackjack. However, some rules may differ from one blackjack table to another. So, before you start playing live blackjack, check out the rules and make sure to understand what makes that specific game diverse from the classic one

How to Bet on Blackjack Online?

When it comes to real-money gaming, it’s critical to stay within your budget. And to do so, you need to choose the blackjack table at a reputable casino that imposes maximum and minimum bet limits that suit you the most. Once you select the blackjack table and place a bet, you’ll receive or lose money depending on the outcome. In most cases, the blackjack (the cards that score 21) pays out 3:2. If you come across a game that pays out 2:1, you should undoubtedly pick that one. However, the tables that pay out 6:5 in the case of blackjack are the ones to avoid.
